Just a Couple years ago under ex- Owner Jeffery Loria the Marlins had a horrible farm sy
stem with no talent and a under performing team that had Giancarlo Stanton, Christian Yelich, and Marcell Ozuna, JT Realmuto, and a primed Dee Gordon at 2nd base and don’t forget young Cuban Sensation Jose Fernandez.
What Happened to this team?
This was an under performing group that never had much success. They really only cared about individual stats and never played as a team which was a big factor in the reason that team is no longer together. Jose Fernandez died in a boating accident, Dee Gordon got traded to Seattle, Stanton got shipped to the Yankees, Christian Yelich goes to Milwaukee In a trade, Ozuna gets traded to the Cardinals, and JT Realmuto gets traded to Philadelphia. This all happened when former Yankee legend Derek Jeter arrived with the mind set to blow the mediocre team apart and getting a new start.
What improved and what didn’t
A lot improved during the rebuild. The first thing being the Farm System, the Marlins has one of the worst farm systems pre Jeter era and as of today they have a top 5 farm system with Players like Sixto Sanchez, Jazz Chislom, Edward Cabrera, Monte Harrison, and other great talent leading the way for the future of the Marlins. Another improvement was the bench players of those Loria teams with Stanton ow being able to take a huge jump and getting playing time and playing well also. Some things that didn’t improve were the Wins and Losses the Marlins gained more Losses due to the Rebuild it it was expected. Something else we lost was respect around the league but we are re-gaining it showing that we are turning into a young, hungry, and electric team that wants to win.
Season Season preview
This is a huge season into the rebuild because the Marlins have to show that the rebuild is working especially with the veteran talent hey have brought like Corey Dickerson and Brandon Kintzler they are showing that they want to compete and maybe as soon as next season. This is a team that without any pandemic issues needed to wing around 70 to 80 games. But now that there is not going to be 162 games this team needs to step up.
Questions you may have
What success have you seen from the Marlins?
I have see a lot of success from this team by acquiring lot and lots of young talent in which a lot of them are now playing in the offices roster and some of them are one of the best prospects. One example is the Ozuna trade, I think the Marlins have one this trade because first off Ozuna isn’t on the Cardinals anymore and the Marlins have brighter from the trade because Sandy Alcantara has turned into a legit Ace and an All-Star. Magnerious Sierra has turned into a good and speedy bench bat and finally Zach Gallen. Gallen was used una trade ti squire Jazz Chislom si it did pan out for both sides.
Do you think the Marlins will make the Playoffs?
I see them being relatively close to a wildcard spot but now with less games this will benefit them because they have a huge chance to make it into the playoffs. So to answer the question it depends the situation of the season and how many game will be played.
