Philadelphia Phillies
A couple years back this was a mediocre team that was performing decently and then Bryce Harper, JT Realmuto came to town along with other players who started to make an immediate impact to the team. When I look at the Phillies last year they underperformed big time. It was disappointing to see how bad they were but when you look at it there were a lot of factors that went into making them have a bad year in general.
Factors and how they were improved
Gabe Kapler - Gabe Kapler is known as one of the worst MLB Managers last year along with Mets Manager Micky Calloway who is no longer with the Mets. Luckily for the Phillies they fired Kapler and brought in one of the great managers in baseball Joe Girardi which was a really good signing for the Phillies to bring in a guy who has World Series experience and aspirations.
Pitching- Aaron Nola was a little bit disappointing last year but this year he is in for a big season so we will see how he plays. And let’s keep in mind the shortened season can affect stats big time.
The Phillies made some good free agent signings like Didi Gregorius, Zach Wheeler yo help pitching and some other minor league signings like Neil Walker and Josh Harrison. To me the Phillies got the pitching rotation a lo better with Wheeler and they improved the whole team with Didi coming into be maybe their leader.
Question you may Have
Will they make the Playoffs?
Yes of course I see them making it this year with the team they have and the offseason additions but it will be a hard journey to make it their because of three teams the Braves, Mets, and Marlins. The Phillies are playing in the hardest division in the MLB the NL East and when you look at the other teams like Atlanta and New York and yo can never leave out and up and coming team like Miami with the young hungry and electric talent but I see the Phillies making a second or third seed and making the wildcard game and then we will see from there.
How good will Bryce Harper and the others be?
Bryce Harper will be great as he did have a little of a struggling year but I see a bounce back year for this whole team because of how good they got through the whole offseason and in the spring training games. This is for sure an up and coming team and I see then in a couple years being one of the best teams in the league.
